10-15 fps, tried everything

Recommended Posts

My Specs:

-Intel core i7-3610QM 2.30GHz

-8 GB RAM

-1 TB HD

-Windows 7 64 Bit

-Nvidia GeForce GTX 660m 2GB dedicated memory

I've tried all the in game settings changes, cfg changes, and launch parameters, but the highest I've seen my fps go was 20 (wasn't in a city). Once I start moving my fps drops to 10-15 and it's as if my screen is lagging even though my ping is around 25.

I've never had any problems gaming with this computer, such as dota2 running perfectly. I know DayZ is in alpha and barely optimized, but I've seen people with the same/worse specs than mine get fps of 30+.

I just bought the game yesterday and it is barely playable. Anyone have any other ideas?

Have you tried disabling hyperthreading and unparking your cores?

You can use this program to unpark your cores...

I wouldn't be too surprised if you were getting those frame rates in cities, but you should be a bit higher on the rest of the map.
