The first time i started up the game...

Recommended Posts

While my friend was attempting to figure out where I spawned, I was busy learning controls and figuring out what I was supposed to do. 2 minutes into my first spawn I encountered two other players, lightly geared armed with 45s. I ducked back, had no idea how to communicate and went into a shed. They followed, yelling friendly into their mics as they approached. When I realized I was caught, I walked out and looked at them while trying to figure out what button activated text chat(I didn't have my mic with me). They realized I couldn't talk and told me what button to press. As soon as I started to type, they said they were going to give me a free .45 and shot me in the head.

welcome to DayZ.

Not complaining or anything, I personally am on a break from this game till next patch for this reason in particular. 2 of my mates who were new to the game stopped playing too.

I've played like 50-60 hours in the SA, met -so far- 2 players who didn't kill me on sight (one was a hero who gave me a pistol, other one was a new player asking for help to stop his bleeding).

Rest of the time? I either avoided people and played on low pop servers what mostly is quite boring or had to deal with multiple deaths and respawns near the coast whenever I played on a server that was not empty or low pop.

chances are they killed you for the very reason that you were new. Just taking advantage of a newbie's confusion for their own enjoyment.

First person I ran into was a friendly fresh spawned guy who helped me loot buildings for a while. After we parted ways i found a group of not so friendly fist punching maniacs.

It's a hit or a miss, you can never tell who you're gonna run into which makes the "trust no one" rule that much more important.

The reason they shot you is because there is so much weapons and bullets spawning, there was no fear of attracting zombies. If you want to survive long enough to acquire some weapons and enough water and food, I suggest, as soon as you spawn, just run inland, trust me you will survive long enough to find some food and water. DO NOT look for items on coast

"because there is so much weapons and bullets spawning"

im on a break too, south park FTW

was fully geared, and a rock i was "scouting" prone from gave me a seizure and tossed me 20 ft in the air and 10 ft forward to my death. then my body couldnt be looted...even though i was under 10 minutes running back.

such is DayZ

welcome to the experience.

trust no-one.. it really irritates me when players don't communicate with you when you clearly gave them enough warnings just to say something in the chat, i try to be fair.
