edit: They need to add stuff to make people want to stay alive (but that wouldn't help spawning and wanting to box with someone).

My last life I had a fresh spawn boxing match.  I was an Asian lady and yelled at the guy in front of me to run the other way.

 

He told me that an Asian lady couldn't tell him what to do.  Well he didn't make it  ^_^

 

Fresh spawn boxing with a willing crowd is a great way to unwind after glitching out of a building to your geared up death.

Man, I'd probably stop playing. 15 or 30 minutes?! I don't always have that much time to play DayZ, It's hard enough to get started on a busy server, and the spawns aren't perfect at the moment - this would only deter people from playing

In my opinion there should be like 15 min timer when you die in DayZ. Because every fresh spawn tries to punch everybody since they have nothing to lose so if there would be like 15 min timer to respawn again they would definately try to be more friendly :D Aaaand for hardcore it should be 30 min timer. What do u guys think?

I think you'll find threads like these get more aggressive responses because there are so many people out there suggesting on how we can modify behavior through game mechanics. It just isn't necessary. Incorporate the reality into your RP and move on. People are washing up on shore starving. Some of them want your help and some of them want to punch you and take your stuff. I don't think that is incredibly far from reality. Desperate people do desperate things.

This is true, but there is still a gameplay balance issue with the fact that freshspawns can be successful doing this. The reason they try it on is that they have a decent chance of success. The game would improve, in my opinion, if it was easier for geared-up survivors to fight them off. If the success rate of bambis boxing with armed commandos was less, they would try it on less. I think.

Spawns aren't perfect because they give you northeast coast more often than not with the recent patches.There has been a lot of posts both here and on reddit suggesting that the west area of the map is now noticeably quieter than before.

 

I enjoyed the randomness from the mod, and moving north from Kamenka was one of my favourites. Or simply getting a Cherno spawn too. ( Cherno is a dead city these days ).

 

Please don't twist my words, I don't encourage spawn suiciding :P

I don't disagree that the knock-out mechanic with fists is a bit wrong as it currently exists. Sure, you could knock someone out with one punch, but if you ran about and randomly hit a hundred strangers, you probably wouldn't get one. Particularly if they were expecting you to hit them.

 

That said though, there isn't much excuse for letting people get that close to you in the first place.

Rather than introducing a respawn timer that would be bothering everyone, I suggest OP just stays away from coast and stop bothering newspawns, if he can't handle that newspawns can actually fight back.
