A little tip in regards to logging

Recommended Posts

I would go as far to say that most of my kills ingame have been people logging in right beside me. These are the worst culprits:

  • The Green military building - upstairs/behind the beds. (20+ kills! You also risk getting killed by glitchers!)
  • In the proximity of a Barracks or Police station. (10~ kills. Behind and inside the rooms of the barracks esp.)
  • In houses in the center of Elektro - especially the houses behind the church. ( 5~ kills  Especially the red house!)
  • In or near firestations. (5~ kills This one is obvious, very very high traffic)

If you have to log off in any of these places you are taking a huge risk. These are high traffic areas for campers, looters and server hoppers. It appears that many people I have killed while logging in here in full gear thought that they were safe.

  1. If you value your character take an extra 5 mins walking into a wooded area in a random spot and finding cover in a bush or tree. I have only been killed on the log in once, and that was due to an internet drop in the Elektro hospital.
  2. Be aware that if you have a loaded weapon, when you log in , that it makes a very distinct and loud reloading noise. This is by far the biggest warning signal far anyone nearby - this is what has personally landed me the most kills.
  3. If you are injured, and in pain your character will also moan when he logs in. Only players make this noise, so this is another red flag for someone who is nearby.

I shot a dude in the airport building upstairs yesterday mere seconds after a server restart.

Control tower? I should have added that, though I have never personally witnessed a login there.

Always leave town to log out. Or, if you HAVE TO log out in town, try to do it in a log house. Everyone knows there's no loot in those, so no-one ever goes in there.

Haha, i once logged into a civilian building in Elektro in the 2nd floor. It had blue doors and was between the school and sniper hill.

There were 4 fully equipped people with guns who immediately killed me.

They then yelled: "You fucking asshole!" and "What a lamer!" at me. They probably thought that i tried to ghost them and was trying to log behind them to kill them.

It was a lesson for me, and probably a shock for them :D

I later walked into elektro completely unequipped, as a fresh bambi and walked by the same exact house playing 'Buffalo Soldier' ingame. They shot me again :-(.

The only people I've ever killed that didn't shoot at me first are people logging into buildings. It always happens in the barrack buildings to me, which is why I never loot with my back to the door.

Yeah I know all of it. However, moaning sound while logging in is a glitch, sometimes I have this sound everytime I log in doesn't matter where. Sometimes it disappears, but you just can not get rid of it as it happens by chance.

I was in the hospital in Elektro when someone logged in on the roof.

I was a bambi, a quick spade to the head had them unconscious before they had even moved and within 10 seconds I was fully geared.

I left them the spade as a sign of thanks :)

One of the dudes I caught logging in was in one of those new police stations in experimental. Full military gear and the new ruger , just for punching him in the face. I encourage people to keep giving me free gear if that's what they really want :P
