NanoAnarchy 12 Posted March 9, 2014 Now before the flaming starts let me make a few points. First of all, searched and found nothing like what I'm about to say. Secondly, I do NOT support combat logging, in fact it really annoys me most of the time, apart from what I'm about to mention. So please, read before posting. Now, like I said, I hate those who combat log, especially if they are the one who have initiated the fire fight. A few times this has happened to me, someone has opened fire, realised they were either vulnerable, under geared compared to me or various other reason. When someone combat logs like this, I hate it, generally due to the cowardice it takes for such an action. I was raised to finish what I started, in real life or in games, so I do this as much as I can. However, recently I've come across a few who have combat logged which personally for me was a positive even. Yesterday I was somewhere between Kam and Sol (or those unsure where these are they are located between Elektro and Berenzo) waiing for my nephew to get there, ( He had died through a glitch and this was the nearest location for us to meet up.) Well I was set up in the tree line, watching the road for my nephew, and also for trouble. A few other new spawns ran past, and those I was quick enough to get their attention I sent on their way with some food and drink as I had more than enough on me. ( We had been planning to explore the map so had stocked up well). Now whilst waiting a bandit came along ( Literally ran up and shot a new spawn, luckily I had been slower than usual in getting their attention). I took the shot and missed, moving forwards as they ran into the closest house. Now whilst I kept all possible ways they could leave covered ( As in I'd of seen them move out) I checked the new spawn (Dead) and entered the house, drawing my sawn off, only to find all other entrances shut, and no one inside. This happened a few times whilst I was in the area. Now onto the main point. These cowards ho log when someone gets the drop on them like I did do in a way perform us a service. We save ammo from a prolonged firefight for starters. It also free's up room on the server for better players. Finally, it also gives us (At least in my situation as described) Some way to rid ourselves of boredom whilst waiting around, even though we do not get the satisfaction of finishing them off. So I'd lke to see what others think, and if anyone else has had similar thoughts to me.

problembarn420 3 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) I still see some snipers, camping outside of cities mostly, sit on their back after getting shot at.. I have no idea if they don't know about the combat-log patch or not, but I find it hillarious everytime. That beeing said, I could see it working out of the guy shooting at them either is rushing to get the finnishing blow or if they are semi-behind cover. Seen a few disapear after going unconcious atleast. I think this game has changed, atleast a little when it comes to combat loggers. You have those that used to do it, who now never does it, seeing they might loose their stuff as a consequence. And youhave those that "risk" it or don't know about it. So after engaging, like you did, theres 50/50 chance that those people you were chasing had combat-logged, making fighting alot more fun IMO. People who once could sit outside for however longthey wanted, covering exit paths etc, now have to take this into consideration. Either you try to go in after your target, or you stayoutside in relativ safety, and hope he isn't sitting on his arse disconnecting inside. So if you want to make sure to kill someone, you can't really just stay outside and "camp" anymore. Before when combatloggers just disapeared, there was no point in going in after them, seeing how theycould vanish at any moment (high risk no reward). This unsure element of safety/glory makes both side consider how they want to play an engage out, balls or no balls. I've seen both since the patch. Those who play the engage out and those who sit around corners inside, logging out. I find both equally entertaining, as I either get "free" loot or a proper fight. NanoAnarchy 12 Posted March 10, 2014 Maybe he didn't see you, but had his spawn killing orgasm and had to go clean his keyboard. You sir have my beans! This made ma laugh and was far from the furthest thing I expected as a response XD When we could walk away knowing the fact that they are back at the coast doing exactly what the guy he killed did.I know we could walk away, but that wasn't my point. My point was is there a positive side to combat logging such as saving ammo etc etc. I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you mean by your post, but it's hard to gleam much from a single line answer without an explanation. So like I said, sorry if I mistook what you said, but please elaborate a bit more.
brutalwyrm 23 Posted March 10, 2014 nah, combat logging has always been a problem, and basically assures people that unless you snipe them from a mile away and kill them in 1 shot, anyone you catch offguard will go away. If you want to play a game with little risk and gunfights that end as soon as someone gets scared, there are plenty of games out there that cater to this style of play. as far as i'm concerned, you shouldnt have a get out of jail free card in a game like this..
