Stuck on Receiving Data and Waiting for Server Response.

Okay, so after various problems with the installation i finally get it working, i Join a server, Die, and after i respawn, I got the Waiting for Server Response Bug, got into another server, and then when i left that one, i get stuck on Receiving Data! This mod has been nothing but problems for me! It has ruined my day and put £25 down the drain! I need to get this fixed! So, any ideas? :/ I know its only in alpha stage but this should still not happen!

I know same here, 30$ gone in flames, Im thinking playing arma2 single player scenarios so far. The fact that rock paper shotgun and kotaku posted articles on this mod probably doesnt help tho, i suppose lots of new player, like us are trying to get on the few servrers available.

seriously, arma devs should dedicate and buy servers for this mod, cuz people bought the game specially for this...theyre making loads of money just for this game.

So annoying, its a brilliant mod, i just want to play it without all these problems, but its just way to buggy and annoying. I know its only in alpha, but this is just stupid. Its there to play, and i cant play it!

You guys did not have wasted the money.

The "Recieving data" and "wait for server response" issue is not a bug. It is a technical result of having servers which are running all at their limits. There´s only one way...you need to be patient. If it doesnt go further after a couple minutes, disconnect and try another server.

Imagine that there are currently way more players around who want to join the game then servers available to provide the game....so adjust your prospects.

by the way, ArmA2 does provide way more fun than DayZ Mod only...did you guys ever tested the ACE Mod? Have you experienced the feeling of a military Special Operation Mission by using ACRE?

thats why I said arma devs should provide servers, after you wait 20min for server response, you spawn with no gear and cant really play, the hud aint there...

Actually I know the game I bought, thats why I didnt buy it when it came out, I dont really like it that type of game. I would rather have given that money to the Dayz Devs than paying for a game I dont really enjoy.

That being said, Ill give ACE a try, but the problem I see with Arma(and simulation game in genera) is the controls/navigation are really a barrier for the player immersion, Its a chore to make your avatar do what you want to do, and although this is the case in every game to a certain degree, when it comes down to simulation these kind of thing ought to be next to flawless. The relation between the player input and the Avatar in Arma feels chuggy and unresponsive.

Try joining allmost full servers like if its 33/40 or 40/50 those are the best quick servers

ive noticed some of the less populated servers tend to take a while to connect to

one good think to understand what happens while you waiting is to hit the P key once you are in the mission.

By pressing the P key you access the Players table, by this you see who is connected and waits for his connection to be established. Then you do understand why it simply takes a while longer then on other servers.

Other thing one can do is to join at a total different time of day.

I´ve the luck that I´ve got to work in shift, so I mostley work in late shift which enables me to play at the mornings, while the servers are not that much overfilled and are not working at their limits.

I have been trying to log into servers for the past 2 1/2 hours wit no luck. It hangs on the Waiting for Server Response. I reinstalled battlEye, restarted the computer and tried tons of other things. It just times me out and I get stuck in oblivion forest and have to try again.

Other people seem to connect just fine as I am talking with them on Teamspeak3.

Wish I knew why I was singled out lol.

I try and connect to a server and I get stuck on "Receiving Data" then when it finally, if at all, spawns me I get booted back to the ArmA multiplayer server list with the words "Waiting for character to spawn" (or along those lines) with a black screen for a background. I know I'm on the server because I heard a guy trying to get my attention with direct chat. But when I try and get rid of the server list it bumps me back to the main menu and out of the server. I have no idea what is happening.

Guys' date=' please remember that this mod is still in Alpha status.

So I´d recommend to create a thread in the bug report Forums and also provide all your Internet and hardware specifics. Those details will help to track down certain bugs and repair the code to provide a better connectivity.

i have the same problem. i get into a server but stuck on waiting of rserver resposne

I'm getting this error on servers that are empty, or have only three or four other players who are all complaining that they can't get in because they're waiting for the server to respond, so it's not that the server is running at capacity...

Roughly how long do u wait? My mate get on fine and sales he has to wait for around 5-7 mins befor it loads

If this doesn't work try defragmenting cashe files - steam - properties - defragment cashe files

Or reinstall battleye
