Bandit / Anti-camping suggestion.

Recommended Posts

Anyone who has lived out in the field knows that as the sweat and grime builds, you work up quite a stink. Add in the apocalyptic nature of Chernarus, without the comforts of hygiene products, and that stink must be epic indeed. So, in order to curb camping (such as from the Cliffs of Elektro) if your character stays stationary for too long, the buzzing of flies/insects around your person increases. Hopefully this can have several effects:

1. Campers will be forced to move around, exposing themselves more often.

2. The buzzing will get louder as the person remains still, to the point of obstructing vision, or causing problems with aiming.

I love to PvP, so don't get me wrong on this. However, I also like to meet up and try and “survive” with others. If hardcore bandits think this is too much, then maybe bug spray or some type of hygiene mechanic can be introduced in order to let one camp for a certain amount of time – but these need to be rare, or the whole suggestion is moot.

I have my doubts about a stinky person attracting more bugs than a freshly showered one. In some cases the scents from our hygiene products can actually draw in bugs & animals.

But, I disagree we should be punishing the bandits who want to sit in one place and wait for people to shoot. I want the common areas to be watched, I want the good loot spawns to be camped. I want that risk. I don't want to live forever because I'm good at spotting movement.

Excellent counter-arguments, bad_mojo. I'm just trying to think of some type of mitigation to curb the "fish in a barrel" syndrome that reflects the state of Elektro. I've participated in, and watched, the gibfest that occurs there and I admit it is quite funny, but may discourage some.

Risk vs Reward from going to the bigger cities, airfields - and I agree, we absolutely need those big predators out there. I'm not sure if rampant banditry is an issue or not (to the overall playerbase), just thought I would throw out the suggestion.
