Which SDLC model do DayZ devs use?

Recommended Posts

First off - I did use the search function a few times however found nothing that actually answered this question.

The reason I'm asking is that I've managed a number of projects using the generic approach and looking at the speed that these updates are being rolled out (despite the amount of moaning and complaining) makes me think that the Agile principles are being used.

Just the amount of user feedback the devs actually take onboard, follow up and implement is mind boggling - maybe it's the fact that I've come from a large telco environment where the user's feedback is shoved way down the toilet and then flushed repeatedly, for me such quick turnaround seems amazing. Then the idea of utilising users themselves to go on experimental servers, test the patch before it goes live and provide feedback, I'm sure other companies have done this in the past but just seeing this put into practice - i wish larger organisations actually had a go at this rather than just talking about it at a high level talking that this is on their "roadmap".

Anyway, if anyone actually knows which SDLC approach is used in DayZ development please let me know. Would be quite nice to use this as an example when discussing issues when sticking to generic/waterfall model at work.

Thanks

I really like the Dev's responsiveness to, and involvement with, the community. It's something that's not often seen (to my knowledge) and really gives a personal feel to the whole experience. I also think the pace of the updates and the ground they've covered in a short space of time to be quite impressive.

Keep it up, Bohemia. :beans:
