Sniped, Bugged, or Ninja Zombied? You Decide!

I had a strange death this morning and would like the community's verdict on the cause. 

 

• On the Hardcore experimental branch at 5:30 a.m. with 3 others in the server.  
• Ran to the NWAF and was looting my first building...the jail building in the SE corner of the area. 
• Upstairs in the bunk room trying to loot a .357 that is out of reach unless I run towards the bunk with my inventory HUD open. 
• Anyway I hear one zombie grunt (had not heard anything prior), immediately followed by the telltale wash of grey across my screen like I'm hit by something and dead.  No weapon on contact sounds of any kind.

 

Now this could have been a sniper, but they would have had to be quite far away as I heard absolutely no sound other than the zombie grunt from no where.  Also, it was low pop at that early hour and I would think Snipers would want stable branch servers with high population.  

 

I wasn't in a commonly watched area, had just arrived from that direction so I hadn't really exposed myself, and I was away from the window where you'd think at most my upper torso and head would be exposed to a sniper's bullet, but when I died I received a message of "legachepain" (or whatever the correct text is...) like I was hit in the lower body.

 

What do you guys think?  Sniper, bug, or ninja zombie?  A glitching Zed would have had to one-hit kill me through the floor...which I don't find likely as I was triple green on health.  So more likely a random bug death or sniper seems to me. 

 

Server was US Experimental 002 Hardcore I believe.

Not sure the noob epithet was required, but whatevs...thanks for the feedback.  Anyway I'm not sure who decides to snipe at 5am on a hardcore server with 3 other people in it...it's the sever I always play on and usually it busy but so early it was pretty much empty.

It could very well had been a zombie.

 

I have lost count on how many times I've been hit by a zombie directly a floor lower than me ruining my pants and such, don't listen to the other idiot.

As have I, but I've never been one-hit killed by a zed while fully healthy though.

I've been attacked by invisible zeds before and Rocket said yesterday on Reddit or twitter he was having problems with invisible zombies since the latest experimental patch so it's certainly a possibility.  But a one-hit kill?  Just as an FYI, I was not having any lag issues at the time so not much chance I was hit several times without knowing due to lag.

I'm not sure who you are referring to, but I'm not angry.  Dying is a part of DayZ, I just couldn't figure out what the heck happened.

I would lean towards bug. I've never had a zombie one hit me.

I was intentionally jogging-into/constant-colliding with a bunk bed to be able to reach a spawned item though the inventory HUD.  Could be this caused a weird collision/clipping "deadly rocks" like bug death.

Experimental is the Wild West of Cherno so I would say just a stupid bug. Maybe hypothermia or some other planned cause of death they're trying out. Or a deadly pebble. Though honestly I haven't experienced any killer ladders or 2 feet death drops.
