They would lower the chance of breaking your arm or leg.

But would it?

Maybe it would stop you from hitting your 'funny bone' or breaking your patella, but pads wouldn't protect the ulna, radius, humerus in your arm or the femur, tibia or fibula in your legs. They'd still be vulnerable.

Maybe it would stop you from fracturing your elbow or stop you from hitting your 'funny bone', but it doesn't protect the Ulna, Radius or 

 

I agree that in RL those wont protect you leg or arm from breaking, but it's just a game, and I would definetly wear those.
