Player driven radio station

I searched and didn't find and ideas like this so here goes.

I think it'd be really cool if green mountaint had a radio transmission room that would broadcast to battery powered radios throughout the map. Not the walkie talkies but radios like how a person would normally listen to music or the news. With the things that people dedicate time to in this game I'm sure that some people would actually run full radio shows. If some of the radios were on as an object on the ground it would be really cool too, hearing someone play music or read hamlet over the radio as you enter and abandoned factory would be cool.

True, but there is a reason why we can't have nice things, and the internet reminds of us this on a daily basis.

They had this idea early on. Dean asked people to submit ideas/samples of the radio stations for this game.

The problem is, they could be broadcasting stupid/annoying stuff just to get people to head there only to be taken out by a team of snipers as soon as they got close.

I could see this as being a great idea, it would be a dead giveaway where you are though but id do it to produce a quality radio show

I can see how the shitty music/obsenities thing would be an issue but as people have said the radio host would be easily found and also you wouldn't hear it unless you had found an active radio so it would be easily avoided.

Yes and with Walkie Talkies you can choose different stations so if you wanted to tune into wkrp douche bag radio you can or can't. Or they could have different genre stations. I like.

Players use to play thunderstruck through the choppers in Arma 2 when landing, it was amazing! No distortion either, use to really hype you up before a good firefight, maybe if it was limited to a few dedicated "server DJs" but as for anyone in the game? That could go bad very quickly.

Like the idea - especially with a fixed place to broadcast from.

There already are some Radio Objects standing around in civilian houses - make them portable (with batteries) and you´d have the base for plenty of fun community / serverevents.

Abuse could be easily avoided by shutting the radio off.
