CalUKGR 4 Posted May 13, 2012 I know nothing about the ARMA II Mission Editor, but figured it might be fun to set up a Zombie map. I put this together in around 30mins, just experimenting around. I haven't worked out yet how to get the Z's to 'be agresssive' towards the Player, but this at least shows you can create your own DayZ scenarios in the ME - wiser and more experienced minds will hopefully take this idea forward (I have a lot still to learn) - seems like you can effectively set up a structured DayZ mission (vehicles and all) with the right know-how. Possibilities are hopefully endless... This video uses the BAF DLC for ARMA II. It's possible to have your Player wearing any 'skin' you want, as long as you have the required DLC installed. Captured in FRAPs, edited in Premier Pro.
gloopy 6 Posted May 13, 2012 You'll need to include the SQF scripts to get them to attack you I believe. There are several scripts that handle the Zombies loitering, target acquisition attacking etc etc.I've been messing around making a Zombie Co-Op mission but it's not done yet. Any advice on where to find those scripts and how to get them into the Mission Editor very gratefully received, fella.
evans d [16aa] 3 Posted May 13, 2012 While they didn't attack me, I was able to get them to be "hostile" towards me by grouping them with an OPFOR unit that had a spawn chance of 0%.
gloopy 6 Posted May 13, 2012 Not sure how happy devs would be about this being posted here but I guess anyone with the knowledge can do it already so it doesn't really matter. If not, please delete but don't ban me ;)You need to get a tool called CPBO and unpack the dayz_code PBO file. in there you will find all the SQF scripts. You can then execute scripts manually using the execVM command, or put them into your init.sqf script for your mission. Remember much of the DayZ stuff is server side and very complicated but it should give you an idea. Also. Any scripts that call functions require a functions module in your mission. to get you started the script that causes zombies to attack players is in the compile folder and it's called player_zombieAttack.sqf. Remember any variables used in this script will then need to be included in your mission.

I think I understand what you did - kinda 'fooling' the AI into using the Zombies as an 'enemy' unit...not perfect, but a partial solution. We'll get there. Just need to get the Zeds to respond in SP scenarios as they do in DayZ MP. Imagine being able to put together a fully tricked-out AI military squad of your choice to go Z-hunting...I do know you can get the Z's into any territory within the Mission Editor - I've had them running around the Desert and on the airstrip in Takistan. The Mission Editor offers so many possibilities it's mind-boggling...Not sure how happy devs would be about this being posted here but I guess anyone with the knowledge can do it already so it doesn't really matter.
