Rottenflieger 0 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Something like this has doubtlessly been posted before but I wanted to make sure I was installing DayZ Mod correctly.I have installed the steam versions of Arma 2, Arma 2 OA and the steam OA beta patch.I ran each of these programs first and then downloaded and installed the steam version of the DayZ mod. Next, following several guides on the topic, I ran dayz from the steam library and selected "Play with beta patch".The mod works fine and I can join the latest version servers, however I realised that most servers weren't running vanilla dayz, instead using mods like Epoch or Origins. So I read about DayZ commander making it much easier to install multiple mods.I installed dayz commander following this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1nt6kn/dayz_commander_v0915/?sort=top(there's a link inside to a direct download of the mod files instead of using the malware ridden installer). So now DayZ commander runs and I have the option to play with steam and "Replace original Arma 2 files with beta so Steam works". I'm not so sure If I should do this, will selecting this option corrupt my steam files? Or does the Steam beta I downloaded not need to be replaced? This installation process has been a big headache and I really hope it's worth it, any help would be appreciated. edit: Just realised when I clicked on install/update in dayz commander, it says that dayz mod is not found, so I'm guessing I have to download a non steam version? blunt_zephyr 51 Posted March 16, 2014 You have your 'Commander' setup to look in the @DayZ folder? I use this page to set my DayZ up. Hope you get ingame soon! Let 'Commander' download the DayZ mod/OA_Beta. If it mucks-up, you'd just have to right-click Arma2 OA and verify file integrity.
