Dayz completely freezes my computer

Recommended Posts

I can play dayz for about 30 minutes to an hour before it completely freezes my computer and have to hard shut down. I can't even bring up task manager or minimize the game. I've tried updating my drivers and re installing the game with no luck. When this happens, its either when I'm turning my character or going to the side with a blur effect. This has been happening since the last patch. Any help would really be appreciated or a fix to this problem.

My specs are,

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Processor 3.30 GHz

8GB Ram

64 bit Windows Home Premium

NVIDIA GeForce 460

Attachment if that can help.

Thanks for the DXDIAG, but copy-pasting the information would be easier than having to download it. )

That being said:

Have you tried changing your graphics settings? Specifically, turning them down and disabling motion blur/rotational blur/post-process effects? (What causes blur when turning)

Is your computer a laptop? The 460M (M meaning mobile meaning goes in a laptop) is a decent enough card to run the game, as far as I'm aware. Regardless, try turning every setting to the absolute minimum (except resolution and 3D resolution; leave those at the the size of your screen)

Testing that now with turning down the blur effects. I am on a desktop. Will edit with what I find and if it helps or not.

Edit: It didn't work. Their was no blur this time though with the settings off. Everything else was turned on low or disabled. I timed it and it happened after 36 mins of game play.
