Unable to play standalone

Recommended Posts

I have been watching dayz streams and other media for a long time now and finally have the chance to play it having bought myself a new pc. My problem:

I purchased the standalone from Steam. I can launch the game but after about 10 minutes (mostly in the menus) it crashes my pc causing windows to inform me that there has been a problem with the hard drive. When I reboot my pc it takes several attempts for it to recognise the HD. I have had no other problems with other games.

I have set all video settings on dayz to low to allow me to tweak to my pc capability.

specs:

OS: 7 ultimate 64 bit

CPU: i5 2500K 3.3 GHz

Ram: 8GB DDR3 668 MHz

Graphics: 896MB GTX 260

I get about 5 minutes before I get the "this program has stopped running due to a I/O error"

Any help is appreciated

Is it a blue screen that informs u about a problem with the hard drive? Sounds like a hardware problem - maybe ur hard drive or ur mainboard is broken. (Full) scan ur hard drive with

http://www.chip.de/downloads/HD-Tune_23932256.html

and try to connect ur hard drive to another SATA port on the mainboard.

Can't be the game causing ur computer (windows not even loaded) to have problems with detecting ur hardware
