Can? Sure...Will? Probably not. I've just assumed that there will always be something people will complain about. Fix everything and we will start getting complaints about how we can't put highlights in our hair.

I'm guessing a lot of people don't work in the business world or at the level to see this sort of decision making. This is actually a short response time from money influx to hiring.

 

Even when the money comes in, hiring is a long-term financial commitment, so there are layers and layers of analysis that must be undertaken to make such a shift in departmental budgets, then of course the whole hiring process.

No, they didn't double in staff.  Mr.  Hall just bought too many doughnuts with hill bazllions of moneys and now they are all fat.  They doubled in weight size, not team size

we need that to happen and him be on his merry way.

 

and look at minecraft, the creator left very soon in. but that came wasnt very successful right?

I agree that I don't give a fig if the originator leaves. It's fine for people with a different vision to take over... If it's a vision that appeals.

 

I saw another article that said the team was "effetively" doubled.... i didn't actually like, read it, but I thought "Ah, EFFECTIVELY. Like how I am EFFECTIVELY doubling my output today by thinking in a determined fashion that I am..."

 

Anyway, hopefully the impact will be noticeable. If not, I will.. well, my life will go on pretty much without any impact..

I think even if Rocket leaves by the end of the year, he will still atleast a little contribute in the future.I am sure devs and designers in the game will reach to him for some advice or help.

Besides in 10 months I think the game will be almost full with all the features they want to put and the only thing left will be fixing bugs and implement features requested by fans.So people should calm down.

This is the most famous game in Twitch.The closest thing to a realistic zombie apocalypse and post apocalypse game.Also the closest thing to TWD.This game is not going anywhere near dieing.Not to mention, all the success it has with future hardware and development engines...get made, DayZ 2 will be a good investment.

If I'm not totally wrong, this might be the "large specialist" team of devs, Dean was talking about, the ones that are responsible for animals+hunting+Pathfinding of animals and Zeds...

Potentially. I know they currently have a team who have worked on hunting games in the past developing wildlife AI, and sound guys working on the many, many sound issues that the game currently has.

They hired a coffee guy, accountant, PR Manager, sales leader, sales team members, project manager and 3 yes men.  DayZ eta doubled.

It would be interesting if the wildlife AI led to the new or improved zombie Ai that seems to elusive.

I honestly think that zombie AI is just back burner right now aside from making them walk up stairs, it hasn't changed since release as far as I can tell.

Afaik it has been said that the Zombie AI is only a placeholder (and a copy from the mod) while it is worked on the "real" AI. Don't know if it's true, but if, Pathfinding is not a core part of the AI, maybe "calling" it sometimes but working on its own level..
