What sort of an API can we, the developers, expect to have on the servers running the DayZ Standalone? Is there any documentation that outlines what the mod / development community will have the ability to perform, or how they can interact with the game?

Ex: (EXAMPLE, JUST AN EXAMPLE)

Counting the number of beans a user eats on a particular server
Counting average accuracy of each player that shoots
Counting the number of total shots per server
Counting the number of particular items that are yet to be picked up on the server
Tracking the most popular time of day on the server - Game time not Time Zone time
Tracking the number of people who have killed
Tracking the number of people with guns / newcomers

To The Sadists :
This is not a leader-board system. My question pertains to what can we expect to track, and do with the API, rather than, "what am i describing by giving you these examples.

What ?

He wants leaderboards for a game that is about survival. Dean has already denied these so why not play along?

I do not want to make breadboards. I want to make a tracking system. Big difference.

Yes. Definitely different. You're using stats and posting them publicly and ranking them, how is that any different.

Really?? Other than tracking other benign things such as shots fired and beans eatten, I fail to see how a "tracking system" is different.

Counting the number of beans a user eats on a particular server

Counting average accuracy of each player that shoots

Counting the number of total shots per server

What's the point of these if they are not displayed to anybody. You are literally not even making sense.

Stop writing ignorant comments, and provide any info about the API. If you do not know, stop replying.

I mean this in the nicest way possible so please don't take it the wrong way...

You're a moron.

There's no support for modding or even tracking stats at all currently, probably not going to happen for a long time.

Thank you. That is what my question was all about. Good to know. I shall hold and wait. A game that was build on a mod should provide mod features.

The game will most definitely be moddable, but not until there's a decent framework underneath it. Regarding API, there's really no knowing right now what will be there. The devs are hard at work getting the base game to a reasonable state, only then will they worry with lower-priority things like modding and possibly API.

Why just not make so that only you can view your own stats, I would be pretty interested to see them.

People in this community seem to bend words. If you are tracking your own stats that also means leaderboards, especially to the sadist trolls above. None the less, I can agree with your comment. I would like to see how many beans I ate in a life, or how many times I was shot and had to use a bandage. Why? Well, is it wrong to track my own progress? no. If I own a private server, and only my clan plays on it, is it wrong to become a little competitive and compare stats? Of course not.

The SA is based off of the RV engine in all the other ArmA games. The API is availible from the BI wiki and has been for years. Whether or not parts of it are restricted or not is yet to be seen. Go there: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Scripting_Commands.

Most questions about relevance of this to DayZ cannot be answered yet.

You deserve my beans! Thank you! Hopefully the standalone adopts the same API.
