If it was optional to the server it would be fine. Don't know why it isn't. Seems like only a minority of players wanted it gone to begin with. Most people on my server used it to chat and share experiences.

Zedsdeadbaby tries in every thread to make it sound like some cool game play decision when it isn't. I play on one server, have multiple friends I've made on that server (through side chat, coincidentally), and if I need a blood transfusion or morphine I can shift tab and ask one of them for it. Side chat doesn't change squat, it just ruins any sense of server community and makes boring 3000m jogs even more boring.
