When will the players change? + bonus story

No, I am not bitching/complaining/whining about bandits.

No, I am not raging.

And no, I am not trying to look like a kid. Because I am a kid.

 

So, lately, I started playing DayZ again. Insta-dissapointment again. No, not the game or the lag or the lack of items which is beeing solved every update, but the players.
They don't change. Every person I've met told me to kill them, every player I've met was either a bambi or a bandit, and every city had a bandit camp somewhere.

 

Start of with running up the sniper hill from Kamyshovo with no items because I heard shots. Kid-instinct comes in saying I should go up to that sniper and knock him out, kill him. Went there, broke my bone whilst running away from his buddie who tried to shoot me with his m4. Crawled back, asked for morphine. Hands up, still got shot, no response.

 

Respawned, went back, knocked out the sniper, got his m4 , couldn't pick up the mosin. The M4 guy kicks in after 14 seconds, misses a whole 40 ammo mag whilst I'm running away.  Turns out its a clan when I flank them and kill one more sniper.  2 more guys with m4 and the guy I left uncouncious with the mosin. Flank again when running away, they're gone.

 

Come down to Elektro, theyre camping inside one of the red buildings, killing bambi's who go there to drink from the pump. They failed to kill me again. I go up the red buldings stairs, shooting from hip in 3'rd person, killed one bandit, his friend comes 4 minutes later, kill him but this time he hits me one or two times, bandage, a guy with berret comes firing from hip, kills me like I killed his friend, same way. I shoot him, he killed me, I probably didn't hit him. Ugh. It was some other guys not the same clan I thought.

Moral of the story : Don't play a hero that exterminats bandit's unless you know how to do it. I didn't.

SO as i've mentioned, the players don't change even after I did a 2 month pause and like 4-3 updates happened. Ofcourse, it is way too short of a period of time for them to change, but still.

 

When do you think people will have a new objective in DayZ apart from Kill-or-be-killed. ?

When the core features are in place.
But probably not by much.

There are those that don't just KOS, and actually look, examine, and talk if possible to others. Me and my friends do that all the time (SO we be friendly). Alot of them are surprised. It's just a very small fraction of all the players sadly that do this.

If that was true we wouldnt have the number of KOS threads that we get daily....

I was referring to Heros? we are not bandits, we actually help, most that kos don't even talk to the person!

Unfortunately... There aren't many of us. But you will encounter medics, so don't KoS!

I never KOS myself, unless it's a camping player with his gun up.

 

I always ask in voice chat or in game chat if he's friendly or atleast say "Hello".

If you give a man a gun, he will do what he wants with it.

Just remember this: It takes more balls to be a hero than it takes skill to be a bandit. While not all people who KOS are bandits, most of them are too cowardly to be a hero.

Yep the players don't change

I died to a bug by falling off a hill where I seemed to glitch in the scenery and die

So respawn at elektro and it's only about 8 people on including 3 of my team so I think it will be safe but nope

Two guys are camping inside the fire station and chase me all across elektro shooting at me before they catch up and kill me and I'm forced to listen to the teen trash talk while I'm re spawning

Next I teach elektro again some time later on a new server and meet two guys on the road, I have a mosin this time and fall back to re fire station where 2 teammates of mine are waiting as one of the other players pulls a shotgun on me

We surrounded them and tell them not to shoot, guy raises his shotgun and I pull the trigger but my gun clicked even though it had ammo and is pristine

Well he shoots me with the double barrel and then my two friends shoot them after we told them to put their gun away

Somehow they thought they could win with fists and 2 shotgun rounds against 3 guys

Yep people are still dumb
