who else is excited about the recent tweet from rocket?

Here you go.  FPS is showing in top left corner.  This is in Electro

No offense mate but you're looking at the fucking sea, are you trying to pull my leg? It's well known that looking at the seaboard boosts FPS if you don't have a full town in view. What do you get looking in to and around the town, I'd especially love to know what your FPS in Cherno is because I definitely get around 18 FPS there on my usual settings. I never spent time in Elektro so I couldn't say.

I posted on the second page.  It's the top post with screenies.

Already seen it. However a static framerate while looking in the direction of the ocean doesn't exactly prove you're never dropping below 30fps.

I know where that office/school is, I wasn't born yesterday. There's only a hospital and a couple of buildings, and the dock, between you and the sea.

Just stop projecting your issues on to me guy. 0 fucks given, etc. etc.

Nice picture but I'm just stating facts. The game doesn't utilise the vast majority of your RAM, nor your SLi. In any number of other applications your system would be far superior to mine, but in DayZ? Practically lesser unless there's some evidence an i7 gives that much of an advantage, and i7s are not known for producing drastic improvements over i5s in gaming applications, never mind the fact that I saw no FPS improvement whatsoevever by overclocking to 4GHz (over 20%).

This is about the quality of reply I expected from the people making these types of claims.

Caboose do you feel like running to Cherno? I recognise the areas in the first two pics but don't recall if I had this slow-down there, and they're hardly dense areas. I understand if you don't want to because it's not exactly a short trip just to get some screenshots.

I got no problem doing it my man.  Christ, I haven't been to cherno is weeks lol.  Gonna have to give me about 15 mins at least  :P .  Also, increasing your settings may actually net you more fps believe or not.

Oh, I just noticed my ambient occlusion is on, usually turn that off as it nets me about 10 more fps

I even overclocked my i5 to 4GHz just for the people who claim it's CPU limitation, and it didn't affect my framerate whatsoever.

You overclocked by 300mhz over stock turbo, you're not going to notice much difference. Try for 4.5 to 5 then you will see a bit of a boost.

Also experimental is better right now, I'm getting about the same fps in cities (~30) but with object quality on high compared to very low on stable branch. (rest of quality settings on high, AA off, FXAA low, HDR low, view distance @ 1500/1500 res @ 2880x1620).

i'm running this game on low/off all settings except very low shadows and clouds. pp very low to see my health status.

AA off. AO off. vsync off, changed the cfg to minimum settings.

at my setting i'm getting 35-45 in a city and 45-60 in the wilderness.

with massive drops and stuttering.

for a 10-30% graphics boost, turning it to high/very high but losing 90% of my fps is not worth it.

I'm going to Elektro myself if I can get a good spawn (regular mode so I don't feel guilty for suiciding so much), I'm also using your settings but I will turn AO off.

My stock mobo settings do not use turbo, 3.3 is the load clock. Manually increasing from 3.3 to 4 did nothing, I was going to go higher but other people reported the same lack of any performance increase whatsoever when overclocking their CPUs.

I'm still running to Elektro, I gave up trying to get a good spawn with this timer. :P

data transfer between the game and your gpu is the issue here.

ssd or sata3 read write is BARE MINIMUM for this game.

my having an i3 dual core 3.3ghz isn't affecting anything really. you don't need a top tier processor or OC your current one.

I hope this fix comes out soon... the latest experimental build (Feb 25th, 0.37) has me at under 10fps in Elektro... it's ridiculous.

Caboose: I went to where you were in Elektro and I was getting 15fps with your settings, I also switched AO off as you reminded me. I was on experimental branch, not sure if that affects anything, and the server was packed because experimental always are. I was using my 580 for this because my 760 is currently in a box, but I typically get the same frames on both no matter what.

So either your i7 is the magic sauce, which I doubt, or you have some neat .cfg options and startup switches I don't.

P.S. Turn that post processing down, it's horrible. :P

P.P.S. Running around checking FPS while under fire as a bambi is pretty funny.

Yeah 15fps for me, horrendous.

Edit: I just went on an empty server and got much better FPS, almost double. More like what Caboose was getting but slightly less (580 probably).

OPEN YOUR .CFG!!!

trust me.

made about a 15fps difference for me setting view render distance

also, you can enter in ram, vram and cpu cores/threads into the steam launch line to get better results.

the Arma 2 profile in your gpu can be turned on as an easy optimization.

I have screenshots of my settings on the top of page 2.  Those are while I'm in Electro.
