DayZ has stopped responding...

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. Basically ever since the release of the Alpha I have had problems with DayZ constantly crashing and stop responding.

First of all what happens is when I load into a server, i'm able to run around for a few seconds and then the game freezes however audio still plays. When I alt+tab (the only thing i can do to get out of the freeze) it shows DayZ and Steam to be "not responding" in task manager. After closing them both my PC then turns unresponsive and doesnt open any programs or anything. It just sits on desktop for a good 5 minutes.

I have been trying to find a fix and there is definitely more people with my problem (check steam discussion forums).

The things I have tried:

+Update BIOS

+Update Drivers

+Validate DayZ (multiple times)

+Reinstall steam and dayz (multiple times)

+Turn off antivirus and disable firewall

+Exclude Dayz.exe and steam.exe from firewall

+System restore

+Multiple virus scans

Nothing has worked and it is really frustrating because I have played DayZ mod for a while and i'm dying to play standalone.

On a side note, the game sometimes runs fine and I can play for a good few hours before having to swap server etc. However this is very rare...

Thankyou for your time and I hope somebody can help me find my problem and what I can do to fix it! :-)
