Good Getting Sniped Story

I have been playing the DayZ Mod now, and I was referred to by my friend who had played DayZ longer than me (Epoch Specifically). One of his stories may have caught up to me. On the server he plays on, there is a very well known sniper by an unknown name (My friend calls him the Sniper, so I'll keep it at that). He has set himself up in one of the factory towers in Chernogorsk, but that is another story. Eventually this player found an apprentice who I have heard is a KoS type of player. This apprentice was taught the tips and tricks of sniping, and eventually made a shot upside down hanging out of the tower on a player. This is where it gets interesting and a bit speculative. Well I was on a server I had just joined, so I went on my usual run to Balota Airfield, and I looted for around 15 minutes without a problem. I was getting about 5-10 Zeds following me, so i decided to ditch the airfield. Looking for a vehicle, I stumbled across a recently spawned old bicycle, but it was broken. Deciding to take it anyways i was heading west when I got shot. Instantly dead, it turned out the sniper, north of the airfield and 700m away. My speed was around 10 mph on the bicycle. When I told my friend the story, he says it was an "insane" shot. But then we both realized the whole scenario sounded a bit familiar. I connected the dots and asked if he thought it was the Sniper. He says the Sniper was always a Hero, so he wouldn't kill me unless he had two. Then I asked if it was the apprentice, and he said it was possible. I then mentioned the server name, and after some thought he said the name was the server which the Apprentice started out on. To clarify, the Apprentice was rarely seen on the server my friend played on. This was because of the Apprentice biding his time and trying to hold up his mentor. As you may have guessed, he was killed by the trap he was trying to kill the Sniper with. The Sniper has left his tower in Chernogorsk and has left notes for my friend to find. I am now considering the possibility of a threat even my friend hoped never to come into contact with.

 

This is a true story, and beware if you know the server I am talking about. These guys are very good at sniping.

That's scary. I'd hate having to live every waking moment in DayZ in even more fear that a sniper is going to blow my brains out at any given moment...
