Caratheus 1 Posted February 25, 2014 Hi, I've been playing the Standalone since the day after release on the Stable Servers, but have been considering swapping over to experimental.I was just wondering a few things if I use my steam to opt into the experimental branch; - Will I lose my current character progress ( Not an issue, just wondering )- Can I still use stable servers or will I have to opt out via steam to go back- What are the servers usually like for experimental? Busy? Fun? etc. Cheers, Caratheus.
So Sexy 259 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) 1. No , stable and exp. have different characters, just like hardcore and regular.2. You will have to change back via steam3. Same as stable. Edited February 25, 2014 by So Sexy

Igglas Cage 173 Posted February 25, 2014 I think experimental servers have regular day/night cycles.

Busy? Fun? etc.You will not lose your current progress but you will have a fresh character on experimental, as they are on different hives. It's just like if you were switching between hardcore and regular on the stable branch. You can still use the stable servers but you'll have to change the option back in Steam, this will result in a small (depending on what you consider small) download as it switches version but you won't have to download the whole game again. In my experience the servers on experimental are usually completely rammed and at peak times there can be a shortage of loot, your mileage may vary. Hethwill_Khan 233 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Population numbers assure always interaction, love it. Plus the hardcore servers are usually packed after 22:00 GMT, which is a big big plus. Best thing is... stability and no frame loss at all. Pump your graphics and it still flows smooth. Exception being when a player with horrendous connection tries to connect, then you have a fffffffffsssssss shitty moment until he times out. Then is okay again. Hethwill_Khan 233 Posted February 25, 2014 I haven't tried the latest patch on experimental but I'm not going to hold my breath for this. :P You can. Been on it ( same as all TMK buddies ) since the last weeks, and it is not false. Only way we coming back to Stable is when it gets deployed. :) Enjoy.
