High ping on fast internet

I just installed Dayz on my new computer, i currently live in Winchester, UK. and my internet speed is 13 Mb/s down 1 Mb/s up. When i enter a dayz server, the ping instantly rises from 200-1000 which makes it impossible to play.

 

Is there anyone who have a suggestion for this problem?

 

 

My specs are;

 

GPU : 3x GTX 780

CPU : Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz Haswell Quad Core CPU

Motherboard : Asus Z87 Deluxe Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Motherboard

RAM : TeamGroup Vulcan Red 16GB (2x8GB) 2133MHz Dual Channel

Never heard of 13/1 being a measurement of speed.

 

Are you trying to join US or AU servers? because the distance causes high ping.

No, i am trying to join UK and northern European servers.

You may want to look at your firewall, both router and windows. try temporarily shutting off the Windows firewall, and combine that with adding the ports to the forwarding list on your router, see if that helps anything. There's plenty of guides you can find to show you how to do it.  :thumbsup:
