leviski 2152 Posted February 23, 2014 Currently in the SA there is only two ways to get food 1. Try and scrounge around the massively lootless towns that you spawn in 2. pick a berry bush for an hour or so only to find 2 berries that are poisonous.(also I have yet to find edible berries, AKA the ones that are not blue) We really need either hunting or some way to grow food in DayZ SA. Simple because You cant join a populated server and find food, which causes death far too soon. People complain the game is too easy, then go play on a full server with lots of people. I can guarantee without server hopping you will be dead in moments due to lack of food. Upon spawning (I always spawn in solinchney always!) It will take all of my food levels to travel to berizino or elektro, which neither will have food. something needs changed to add some surviability on those high pop servers. Chaingunfighter 917 Posted February 23, 2014 Yeah, and that's the problem. Usually I would take a secluded path and cut northwest rather than heading to the two major cities on the coast, but the towns in between are so sparse and rarely have enough food to sustain you through. I've also found that people tend to pick through those cities on their way to the NWAF or Cherno so it gets quite annoying and I end up just rushing to Bay Tikhaya and hoarding the food spawns at the supermarket. Ugly (DayZ) 79 Posted February 23, 2014 Hunting confirmed, Fishing will be in the game, and I fully support the idea of growing your own food. A new commodity could become seeds. This would bring a new element once structure-forming comes into play. A growing area is also a lot of work to maintain; you need water, weeding, pest-control, not to mention all the manual labor in simply clearing land and digging. It would be a lot of work for one person, but if a group of people banded together they could reap the benefits, encouraging team play. Who's down for farming north of Lapostino? knar33 158 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Why would you travel to elektro/berezino on a full pop server? That is mindless, full pop servers are just pvp battlegrounds on the coast with no loot. Don't play on full pop servers and/or leave the coast. Food is not hard to find...learn to adapt or you'll just keep bashing your head against a wall. Like I said, this isnt a problem on low pop servers.
knar33 158 Posted February 24, 2014 If finding no loot and getting murdered by coast kiddies is your idea of fun, that's your opinion.
Clumzy (DayZ) 377 Posted February 24, 2014 If finding no loot and getting murdered by coast kiddies is your idea of fun, that's your opinion. The main appeal of this game is the human interaction, for most people it's worth the more scarce loot.
