TheEvilMidget1 0 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) I am experiencing a really bad and annoying slow run glitch on DayZ standalone. I cannot keep up with other players and it looks like, to them, that I am getting rubber-banded, also another problem that I must explain is my character model keeps running off into the distance as perceived by other players. Sometimes my player position will just jog in one spot then just go back to where I was previous. I have really good internet, have tested on a lot of servers. It's not case of just restarting the game, it is a persistent glitch and has been an issue since release, when I bought the game. I have heard about other people with very similar glitches and they have had varying speeds. At peak times when servers are being 'hammered' it gets worse. What do you think my problem is, and what information do you need from me ? Thanks Brad. Edited February 21, 2014 by TheEvilMidget1
gerbilschooler 229 Posted February 21, 2014 Another thread already about thishttp://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/175615-slow-running-then-desyncing/?hl=%2Brubber+%2Bbanding
TheEvilMidget1 0 Posted February 21, 2014 Mine isn't so much rubber-banding but more a case of Slow Run, need solutions for this, but thanks anyway.
chekovp 89 Posted February 21, 2014 What are your graphic settings at? my friend had this issue, but fixed it by lowering all his graphics settings and using the guide linked below.http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154330-possible-fps-enhancer/
djporternz 644 Posted February 21, 2014 Have this happen with one particular player in our group. No matter what we do he seems to run about 15% slower than anyone else. We constantly have to hold up and wait for him to catch up. The only thing we can put it down too is taht everyone else is running mid-range PCs and his is very low-end. I'm inclined to think it may be something to do with the per-frame processing on the client-side. Maybe in the differences between server-side/client-side position interpolation of players and the hard position updating from his client specifically. Hence the apparent rubber-banding like behaviour we see. But I'm not too familiar with the way this kind of thing is handled in the RV engine.
TheEvilMidget1 0 Posted February 21, 2014 I see where you are coming from and It's weird with me because I don't have a low end PC, and me and my friend have almost the same PC, so I don't understand why it's happening to me, because he is fine.
TheEvilMidget1 0 Posted February 22, 2014 I must say ChekovP, that tweaking in the cfg. files has some what made a difference, I have tweaked those files previous to this but not to the extend that I have just now. The performance is a lot better, but I'm going to have to wait for my friends to come on and tell me if the problem is fixed because they are the only ones that can see it
