I've watched a few streams/Videos of Dayz players and most of them pick up the Walkie Talkie and then think its useless and then drop it again.

There is also a few traps you can set up for Bandits if your crafty and have two Walkie Talkie.

If I have one and transmit on the default frequency will people hear it from one that is lying on the ground somewhere? Or will another player not hear it unless they are holding it in their inventory?

 

Can anyone confirm?

 

I have some interesting ideas now depending on how exactly it works.
