dash79 0 Posted February 21, 2014 i watched the beginners guides, read thru most essential post and decided that i wanted to start playing on a empty server with good ping in order to get some gear b4 encountering other players and to learn the suroundings a bit. After learning stuff the hard way in game, breaking my legs, loosing blood, sickness and not being able to respawn without dying. (and dying can be quite difficult when the only thing you can do is crawl) i decided to start again after i manage to off myself from a semihigh factory building. This time i was going to be so carefull not even jumping from the smallest of heights avoiding zombies without any 2handed weapon and to not eat rotten fruit :) And i was supprised how well it went! After some couple of hours i managed to get myself to the southern airstripp and got alot of good stuff, painkillers, morphine, bandages, SKS with 50rounds and a magnum with some ammo, mountain backpack and some military bags you hang on the upperbody. I was doin great and had alot of fun! So i alt-tab to windows and checked the DayZ standalone map, and saw i was not long from the western military base and decided to run there. And off i went and arrived about 40mins later.I looked thru the largest building first and found some good medical supplies and went of to search the baracks, and behold! there lies a prisine m4! Now all i need is some ammo so i start looking thru the rest of the base. Arriving to the last building in the back of the base, wich is a large 4-5 storybuiling, went in and upp the stairway. I find some nice looking loot on the floor and went to get it when suddenly i get a black screen saying i was DEAD?! I was very confused at this point, I had the healthy green bar and green bar from food and drink, the room i was in had no windows, no zombies around so i tried loging out to the server browser to check if there was other players on the server and it said 0/40, i logged in again to see if it was some kind of bugg and find myself standing on the shores again, with a flashlight...... Does anyone know what could have happend? is this a bugg? was i killed by something? did i suicied somehow? i know this is alpha and has the potential to be the best game ever, im just realy bumbed out right now after spending 6h in game and died to nothing :( Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
novogeek 253 Posted February 21, 2014 I guess there is not much to say ... these are the unfortunate things that happen because it is an alpha and you are not alone. I bought the game to support the Devs but I actually haven't installed it yet ... primarily to avoid frustration. There are tons of things that could have gone wrong here ... and unfortunately these things will happen until the Devs can get around to resolving these issues. dayy 173 Posted February 21, 2014 Since your new, here are some tips, stay low, move fast, learn which building have the best loot (School, fire-station, hospital, ATC, jailhouse, police station) learn where those buildings are, and only go to those. Find some friends, get a group together. Finally establish a route for looting. Once your geared make your decision on how you will play, hero, bandit, koser, etc....
