Duenan 226 Posted February 21, 2014 I'm no stranger to Dayz after playing the mod but this week i finally decided to break down and buy the stand alone. For the longest time I was roaming around on populated servers without seeing a single soul. I had started my character in Solnichny and moved across the map west ending up an Stary Sobor and then the airport. From there I geared up to the max with top equipment and decided to head back down to see what Dayz SA had done with Cherno. From there it was apparent the glitches would get me and today was a particularly bad day. I had roamed through a deserted Cherno fully expecting an onslaught of snipers from the commie block but there were none to my dismay. This however brought other issues. Mostly glitches which resulted in me loosing nearly half of my top gear supplies from the NW airfield as my backpack dissappeared into the ground. Luckily I still had my tricked out M4. Er nope. I lost that too as it dissappeared into the ground while I attempted to put on the bipod attachement. Needless to say these things thoroughly pissed me off to the point that I through all logic and reason out and decided to head to the nearest airfield to resupply. The only weapon I had on me was my trust FN 45 and my axe. I only had 1 fully loaded mag for the FN as all my other gear was lost to my dissappearing backpack. It was then that things got interesting. I saw the barracks by the balota airfield and all the doors were open. I imagined that the place had been thoroughly shaken down already as this was something I was accustomed to by now. An area with all opened doors but the survivors had long since moved on since it had been a while since the server restart. I was looking for scraps mostly but still kept up my caution going through the barracks being sure to slice the pie at each entryway. I was on my 2nd barracks when it happened While slicing the pie on the 2nd room in the barracks a shot whizzed by my head from the window outside. I had just enough time to yell "GODDAMIT!" Into the mic as another round hit me in what must of been my left arm as I was partially exposed. I instantly did a partial mag dump into the window discharging 13 rounds in a second. Then it was quiet. I waited for a second wondering if he was dead but then I heard the foodsteps. He circled around to the entrance of the barracks to finish me off. My character was shaking heavily but I turned to meet him in the doorway firing my last three rounds until. CLICK! CLICK! CLICK! DAMMIT! He was hit and bleeding profusely directly infront of me. I quickly ran past him out the door and spun around in time to see him drop to prone. I didnt realize it at the time but one of my shots must've broken his legs. He spun around trying to get his rifle out to finish me as I frantically tapped my hotkey for my axe. It was gonna be crazy and brutal. We dance around eachother and he inched backwards as my axe finally found his skull. I swung and swung again until he stopped moving. But it wasn't over yet. I lost alot of blood and was going blurry and grey quick. So I frantically tore through my supplies only to find my medkit was completely destroyed. I then doubled back to his body to loot his medkit only to find the same thing. It was then I tore off my shirt shredding the brown hoodie to make life saving rags and quickly patched myself up. Then I looked at this idiots inventory and realized he was an asshole. He must've been server hopping at Balota because the only thing in his inventory was ammo for his weapons in every single protector case he had. It was then that it occured to me that I had killed my first bandit in Dayz SA. My character then made a mad dash grabbing his revolver and SKS before dissappearing into the woods beyond Balota airfield. This is why I stay away from the coast. And to whomever it was that tried to kill me today... may you burn in hell
