No one can see my text chat

Hi im trying to communicate with other players i cant seem to see anything there typing in text chat i can see my own words come up i have confirmed they can hear me as i asked a guy i met to do some certain actions to confirm he could read my messages played with this guy for a very short time due to not been able to communicate.

 

its getting very frustrating now as im very much interested in meeting up with people and sharing tips and experiences.

ill also like to add that i have not even heard a voice other than a zombie screaming at me.

 

i have already searched the forum incase this was a common error which i found many other people are having the same trouble but yet to find and answer i have checked my firewall settings and also my routers page making sure that port 2302

is open and not in use/restricted.

 

if anybody could give me any information on how to resolve this i will be very much appreciated.

There's no "global chat", you have to be near the person for them to see your messages. Same goes for voice communication

please read again as i stated i have been unable to communicate with players ive met throughout the game ie facing each over
