Cant use items inside of inventory

My friend is having the issue of being unable to right click on items to use them, such as a bandage or remove flashlight from tool belt. any idea what the issue could be? he has a steam version of the game.

he is also getting the squad commands such as: "form on me" "fall back"

yeah he did that, because i had him about to re-install the DayZ mod. nothin. i had him mess with his resolution, nothin.

He also cant see where he spawned (in the lower right) when he first came in (i know it disappears rapidly).

FIXED, he is forced to use six launcher however. i presume it was because steam is the source of all evil and hatred. its also killing E-sports.
