Server Problems?

Before I continue, I know the game is in alpha. And I still love it!

 

Last night I was killed and broke my legs twice. Not by players but by the game. The first came after me and a buddy logged in at Svetlojarsk. 

 

I went into one of the piano rooms and walked upstairs before going to get a drink. On my return my guy had a broken leg. Luckily my buddy had sticks so crafted a splint and I was fine. We ran up to the town inbetween Svetlo and the airfield before the server restarted. Upon our return to the server, we both got the 'You Are Dead' black screen. 

 

I spawned in Elektro and looted a few things before once again, as I was walking down the street, my guy broke his leg. It appeared to happen after I had got the yellow link. 

 

I've never had this amount of bad luck in such a short amount of time. My question is, is it the server? It always appears to be lowly populated despite it having a low ping. Have others experienced the same and avoiding it do you think?
