I cant connect

Hi

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but i bought the game today though steam and i'm having some issues.

When i go into dayz and try join any server i get an error message, usually asking me to confirm changes and i cant join the servers.
Is this a common issue? Is there a fix for it?
I tried googling this issue but it seems like people have been complaining about this since late last year, so i'm hoping someone could please tell me if there is a fix for this?

I'd appreciate any sort of help.

No, its all green and reasonable ping.

Is it all servers you are trying to join doing this? I.E Regular and Hardcore

 

second, have you tried running the experimental patch and joining the servers on there?

(Right click DayZ > Properties > go along to the Beta's tab and opt into the experimental patch try joining one of them servers)

 

To downgrade just opt/out of the patch and it will put you back to the original version of the game the stable version.

 

Report back with what happens please :)

^{4. I back out to the main game screen, then ALT+TAB out to open an internet page (ie. google).}

^{7. Once an internet page is open and re-connected, Click on the game tab at bottom}

^{8. Search for servers again, they should be refreshed}

^{This sequence works for me 100% of the time. However, It certainly takes patience and a love for DAYZ for the work around.}

Kudos first off to finding such a way to fix your own problem :D

 

When you say the internet does not work what exactly does not work you have trouble viewing web pages normally, just the way you described sounds like your internet connection is as stable as a black hole.

I work all day on my internet (30mbps). Then play all night on multiple games.  That is until I met DayZ standalone, Never a problem out of the Arma2 Dayz Mods.

 

The internet simply disconnects after a DAYZ startup trying to see servers.  I then ALT+TAB to see if an internet page will open, Nope.  Then after waiting a bit the internet page will open.  I then reopen DAYZ to find the severs are refreshed and I have a great chance to log into one.  Never had a problem staying in one once connected either, weird.

I try to join any server and it doesn't work.

I'll get back to you regarding the rest in a while.

I bought, installed, and play this game through steam btw.

EDIT: Okay i tried playing the experimental patch but i couldn't join any of the servers. All the servers have red Xs next to them. I tried clicking connect anyway but as i suspected it didn't work.

Thanks for the help, i appreciate it but unfortunately i still can't play.

Edit 2: After trying both of your solutions separately i also tried them in combination and that still didn't work.

Im having the same problem, happened twice today and if/when i do get into a server, its a fresh spawn... no gear... hungry, thirsty, you know the drill. mine might be a tad different, because in most cases i can get into the server, but after a few minutes i get kicked out with the confirmation of changes error.

Same^  and its my own server...       Get in and then the message appears.. has happened 3 times in succession within the last 10 minutes

Hi People,

I was also having the same issue but I fixed it I believe.

 

Open up your Steam Window and then right click on the DayZ menu item on the left. Choose properties and a dialog box will open up.

Go to the local files tab.

For me this found 1 failed file. It automatically deletes the file and re-downloads it.

 

I was then able to log on to servers without the Changes Made Session Lost message.

Okay my problem appears to have magically resolved itself. I am now able to log on and play. Thanks for the effort to everyone who actually tried to help and i hope this problem resolves itself with the other 5 having this issue. I hope you all get the help you need.

Damn, I was really hoping for a solution on this topic. I've been having this problem since I bought it in December. I haven't been able to play it at all because of this stupid error. It's driving me insane. I guess i'll just have to hope for a solution or a magical fix in one of these updates.

Seriously, everyone, kill your toon. Something is corrupting inventory so instead of fishing for the items and being penalized anytime I want to log in and test, I simply kill my toon and respawn. Works every time.

I'm not sure what exactly you're saying but if you're talking about my character having a corrupt inventory, how could it? I've never even been able to join one game yet to have my character spawn and get items. I've uninstalled and deleted every file to do with dayz on my computer multiple times and it doesn't work. I still get the same error
