Friends character super bugged

My friend rolled in water and it says "You died" but he can still access his inv. He is not loosing food or drink... so he can't die. How dose he die? Joining a character reset server did nothing.

 

Any Help

 

EDIT: Fixed it.

I know you've fixed it already, but for the future you can handcuff him and make him log out while cuffed. This should kill his character.
