MarKeR (DayZ) 57 Posted May 13, 2012 Hey DevsWould it be possible to allow this mod to be run alongside Dayz?http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?109628-ShackTac-Movement-addonsThe movement is alot smoother than the vanilla version?
Trivius 8 Posted May 13, 2012 This would really improve the game for me, I've lost count of how many times I've got stuck trying to enter a door!
dut 21 Posted May 13, 2012 bumping because I can't believe nobody is interested in this, even zombies can clip into the player and stop you from turning around to shoot them!
Capital 5 Posted May 13, 2012 I love the look of this but the only thing that bothers me is that the rifle more or less ignores doorways now.I know a lot of people hate getting stuck, including me, but that's why in reality if you trying to go through a doorway with a rifle up like that any way but straight through, you'll have to drop your rifle momentarily to get through. This makes doorways very dangerous and I'm pretty sure this is a "feature" as opposed to a a bug.
qla 0 Posted May 13, 2012 Would be great improvement indeed.
nyax 0 Posted May 14, 2012 I support this. It was implemented on the US hardcore servers along with TrueGameplay for a short while and both really improved the game and made moving around much easier. I kind of miss having those.
guran 1 Posted May 14, 2012 Yeah moving through doorways and other tight places is not smooth atm. Guess it's supposed to be realistic in the sense that your rifle is in the way to turn in those places but it could be handled much better although it would require some fancy animations and some fancy code to prevent you from shooting straight forward when the rifle is up against a wall. This mod looks better then the rigid behavior of Arma 2, this mod seem to make Arma 2 behave like any other FPS game out there. Mutonizer 78 Posted May 14, 2012 This mod looks better then the rigid behavior of Arma 2' date=' this mod seem to make Arma 2 behave like any other FPS game out there.[/quote']ARMA2 isn't meant to be like any other FPS, it's meant to be a simulation. Heck, I hate FPS games and yet I love ARMA2.Anyway, try lowering your rifle (double tap left CTRL), no problem then. If you can get the hang of it, you can also point the gun down when moving through frames and in a smooth motion move it back up after. There are some collision issues sometimes though I agree but unlike something like say LFD, we're not supposed to "win against the zombies" so doesn't matter much in the scheme of things. Double tapping CTRL should be useful, thanks.

It should be don't automatically - think about how walking is solved. You just need to hold "W" to keep walking forward, you don't need to tap Left Shift for left leg and Numpad 1 for right leg, because everyone knows how to walk. Everyone knows that you need to pull your gun closer to your body/put it down for 1 second/etc. to walk with it sideways through the door.
