Same weather server-wide?

Recommended Posts

I just noticed that in the experimental patch, weather is, like said, set up to work server-side rather than client, but then my friends and I figured that it starts/stops to rain on the entire server instantly.

Is this intended or do they plan to make rain such as a Huge AoE accross the map, again server side, that moves and pours down on areas instead being an on/off button for the entire server?

I'd like to see more... Regionalized(?) weather, such as snow in green mountain when it's raining. It's not entirely realistic, but it would be fun. I'm not sure what sort of weather effects the engine is capable off, but other things, like fog in the valleys, or coastal storms that obscure visibility would be awesome.

As far as I have noticed, a friend and I have been literally standing next to each other and one of us was experiencing rain while the other was not.

SINCE the update? I think we have all been under the impression that the update was to make weather server based, no longer client-side.

My mistake, I see now what the OP was asking about.

Jebuz, how many friends do you have? No way you can know that it stops raining EVERYWHERE at the same time... Even if it is over the whole map it wouldn't really matter anyway.
