Yesterday has to be the worst day for my group

We lost a fight we should have won..... Due to game bugs

It started on sniper hill, our sniper and spotter were there waiting to meet myself and another of my group

They kill a bandit up there that attacks them and my sniper goes right to the top

There is no one around except them when suddenly 5 guys open fire on the spotter breaking his legs and 5 guys had just logged in

They appeared in between our sniper and me, and both me and our sniper were watching the hill, no way that they got I between us without logging in there

, next they spot me and the other guy and we exchange some fire

Our sniper creeps up to within a few metres and opens fire and should have killed 3 of them

He keeps firing off headshots at almost blank range when he realises that a magical force field around his tree is blocking them

He reloads and steps out to get clear of the tree shield and fires some mor but even a few metres away the same thing happens

They finnaly turn and shoot him despite him not being able to kill them

Suffice to say the other guys got sniped and I ditched my orange backpack and flanked them, being the sole survivor, I kill one as he's looting the bodies and wound another bit take a hit and fall back trying to flank again

One of the guys who respawned sees 3 of them heading to the city and one heading away to the woods which I believe he logged off

By the time in back to sniper hill with my mosin they are long gone

Last seen heading for Cherno

I sprint out alone while the other guys re gear, to find them and track them

I mean, 1 guy with a vendetta travels faster than 3 men right?

I check everywhere, Cherno seems unlooted and I head into he camo building as by now (after dropping my pack and getting shot all except my gun is ruined)

And while inside someone takes a shot at me and I'm hit again, though I find enough food and water at the store to get healing status

I get to balota and all is quiet, the others are now armed to some degree and made it to Cherno behind me

Searching.... And there on sniper hill, 3 men around a body looting it, one wearing a cowboy hat like the guys from earlier

Rage, hate and my heart is pounding

I creep up when they start heading down to balota

Now the first guy is less than 50 metres and they are running past me

I look through my long range scope and they stop

Perfect time to ambush them

Line a headshot on the only one that has his gun out

NO MESSAGE RECIEVED

Screw you unannounced server restarts..... Just screw you

And yeah..... Alpha dammit

Nice story man.

 

Same happened to us yesterday, experimental hardcore, bunked up against a mob.

 

Result; too many kills versus 1 friendly fire casualty.

 

Then... server restart.

 

Climax of the situation was lost... momentum evaporated.

 

DayZ session for the evening was over.

 

I reckon experimental is random restarts, but many stable hive server just have the restart cycles too short ( maybe to ensure loot aplenty) which is just a PITA.

Yeah same happened to me. I took out a group of 17 full outgeared-endgame-lvl90-bandits with my bare fists in my underwear, teabagged the corpses while singing "Always look on the bright side" in direct chat and after the song was over, my victims applauded, not only for being the uberpro that I am, them but also for my amazing voice, but before I could give them my IBAN so that they could send me money as a sign of admiration the server restarted.

True story.

 

....why does every of this threads that have a title that sounds like a invitation to a honest discussion seems to me like a bragfestival? Why don't you be honest and name it "I'm so pro, look at my story how many people I killed, but I cleverly disguised it as a discussion that asks for your stories, while you should just admire me for telling how pro I am, before I woke up and realised it was a dream."

 

Really, reading this forum makes me feel like everyone is absolute pro and kills at least 10 others before he goes down. If he goes down.

I don't care if it happened or not. But since this is the internet: Pics or it didn't happen. I don't care if I'm the worst shooter in DayZ (but since I killed some guys in self defense already i think I might actually be able to hit something with a bit of luck), but these threads that are only started by somebody bragging annoy me.

If you really wanted to just tell how bugs "screwed" you:

"My friend tried to shoot some guys that did not see him, but his shot didn't hit, because of tree" & "I wanted to shoot some guys that did not see me, but the server restarted."...

Edit: Nothing against you OP, but this was the 4th or 5th thread that started like this. And the anger about useless bragthreads just added up.

Happened a few times to me some funny some annoying.......of the annoying variety Id spent a few hours fully gearing my character id got really lucky with loot had everything I needed and I was in electro so decided to bug out before I pushed my luck to far.......final thing I wanted to do was climb the fire station roof to have a scout around check for possible ambushers sneaking up on me.....went up the ladder fine......going down.....went to the edge clicked the down arrow started climbing and then for no reason I glitched out fell first through the wall then back outside and landed completly off the station dying due to fall damage......pissed off wasnt the word! espcially when I thourght id got lucky as I respawned right next to electro but by the time i got back to the fire station someone was just making off with most of my corpses gear and rather then letting the bambi like unarmed me get what was left he decided to shoot me in the back as I had a look.......awesome people on this game haha

of the humerous variety I login on the hospital roof in electro in the middle of a sniper session thats obviously just been broken up by a guy with an axe.....I see 2 bodys and 1 person crawling with a broken leg....the guy with the axe comes at me when he sees me spawn and hes obviously hostile so I kill him with my rifle and then go to put the crawling guy out of his misery....crawling guy is unarmed apart from a bat which is on his back.

as I run close to him he guesses my plan and punches me in the foot(all he could do i guess).....Now id like to say I got a bruised toe and shot him in the head in retaliation but no............I die!......seriously?....from one punch?.....in the foot? not even unconscious straight to death!(I had full health no bleeding, hydrated and not hungry) I couldn't even be pissed off at that obvious glitch....as I can say I died through foot punching...and that to me is worth a death.....I guess the dude had his own version of Bruce lees one inch punch lined up.....but for my foot.

Other then that yesterday when going through kabanino I ran into a house looking for food, found a fresh orange ate it and for some reason the screen went red as if id been shot and my guy started crawling....I thought someone had sniped me through a window or something as my character was acting as if he had a broken leg but I had no damage and I wasnt sniped as noone around........basically crawled downstairs everytime I tried to get back up I could get back up but the moment I moved my character resumed crawling......had no damage on my character screen to speak off not even bleeding so I logged off and back on and my character was fine but stood just before the house with the orange as if the server had glitched out then and not saved my progress after that as well as glitching my character.

so yes when your in kabanino avoid the broken leg giving orange haha.

My Short DayZ "God F**king damnit" stories:

 

1: Hacker punches me unconscious from distance, steals gun, knocks me unconscious again, dead.

 

2: Shortly after my respawn, character ran through a rail in a warehouse. Broken legs. Zombie beats me. Dead.

 

3: After that, I go to Elektro on a server with 4 people. 2 of them were watching the firestation. I get held up, my magnum taken, as well as my radio. guy says "I'm not gonna kill you like a douchebag...but sorry I have to shoot your legs. Nothing personal". Legs broken. Luckily I splinted them after they left

 

4: Going down stairs in warehouse. Dead.

 

5: Going up stairs in building. Dead.

 

6: Respawned the day after a firefight. I've been badly wounded and am on the coast near "bambi land" (we call the small town south of Solnichnye) zombie hits me as I spawn in and get my bearings. Dead.

 

7: Shoot at guy inside barracks through glass (before I knew that glass in this game is all bulletproof apparently). He now knows where I am and tells his friend. Shot at. Dead

 

8: Shot through a door in the ATC at Balota. Dead. (Yes I said THROUGH the door)

 

9: Killed by a combat logger in the back while camping a jail.

 

10: Killed by a teleporter in the military base north of Kamenka

 

11: Running away from someone with an axe, attempted to jump over a fence. Ended up doing the slow-vault glitch. Axed in the back. Dead

 

12: And I am currently stuck in NEAF with broken legs from the ATC stairs.

Yeah totally bragging about my group being wiped out and me only killing one and then I ran away

 

I was the sniper in question here and i fired about 15 shots with my mosin from about 20-30meters, i was behind the enemy and they were not in any sort of cover from me, my bullets seamed to hit something after 4-5 meters and i could se that they impacted something that wasnt there, i then drew my pistol to go closer and was spotted by a 4th guy moving on my left flank.

 

Realy frustrating but the game is in alpha so im not blaming anyone, its what happends and im sure i am not alone in this.

 

But yea i got Dayz'ed, brushed it off and started again.....

Got killed by a guy who glitched through the floor at the jailhouse at the NE airport. Me and my friend was camping the door cause people were running around the building. And all of sudden there was a guy standing right behind us and we both got shot by him >:(

Had two classics last night on the experimental build.

 

Fell through a wall of a 3rd story building, fully geared up and having just found a green raincoat! :(

 

I then had a really good run as a new spawn, got quickly re-geared with some sweet loot..the hardcore UK server started lagging bad and was restarted.  Upon rejoining I lost ALL my gear but did not die but was in the same place I was when the server lagged out... surrounded by zombies in the new town outside Cherno... I laughed, it was funny!  Got struck by a zombie and ran around desperately trying to find a rag!  Just survived!
