DayZ Rebooting Computer?

Recommended Posts

I recently have been having issues with DayZ, It started happening when I upgraded my Graphics Card and Power Supply. It seems now that DayZ is Rebooting my Computer? This bewilders me, how could a game Crash an entire computer? I read multiple forums, most saying things like its a Power Supply fault, or its an overheating issue. I downloaded a cpu temperature monitor that runs in my toolbar, and the absolute highest cpu temperature I got was 61. That was during DayZ play. The game is very finicky, sometimes I am able to play 30 minutes, other times I am lucky to get 5 minutes before my whole computer reboots. I downloaded FurMark and pushed my GPU to its limits for an hour, trying to get the thing to overheat, it maxed out at 78 and stabilized. I would point the finger at my hardware, but I am able to play ARMA 3 for hours on end with no problems, PS2 is the same thing. I know the game is in Alpha, but this is a little bit more concerning than to put off as the game not being optimized... Someone please HALP!

System Specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad

GPU: GTX GEFORCE 660 2GB

PSU: ThermalTake 600W

RAM: 4GB

If anymore info needed, I am glad to Supply

Antyhing with your hardware must be wrong, so your PC crashes because of too high stress, I guess.

And no: There's no programm except shutdown.exe, which can reboot your computer.

1) Does it show "Windows is shutting down"?

2) Does it just blackscreens and your PC is completely off, so that you have to manually start it again?

3) Does ist show a blue screen with STOP-Error?

If 1) ....some mysterious shit is going on. Try to set up a fresh windows :(

If 2) Shit got real. You better don't stress your PC, until you've checked the hardware propperly or let it be checked by a professional.

If 3) Check the drivers, check the hardware, reinstall Windows, if everything else is checked and the error still occurs.

These are the little suggestions I can offer with this small amount of information.

It just blackscreens and my PC just shuts down, and starts right back up without me touching anything, after it reboots, its as if nothing ever happened. Weird!

I played on high settings, and it would cut off after withing 3 minutes, I bumped my settings down to normal (the regular preset) and I played for 10 minutes before it happened. No warnings or signs, just a *click*, then the hum of fans as it starts back up.

Well, I fixed my problem guys, it turns out that Thermaltake is perhaps the worst PSU ever, Switched to a Corsair and the problem is fixed. The ThermalTake runs at about 70% efficiency and it tends to drop off for a second (or atleast mine did). Good Riddance to that POS.
