do i die if i exit during respawn timer

im fully kit'd, just got authentification failure, tried to join a diff server and got a 235 sec respawn timer. im in the middle of elektro and will most likely be dead. if i exit during timer do i die and lose all my stuff?

1) You do not appear to others during the timer, you cannot be killed.

 

2) You will not lose anything if you disconnect during the timer, I did it earlier and was fine.

Server hoppng results in immediate death since this past update...
