KFieLd 2 Posted February 18, 2014 I've been wanting to try the experimental branch. Where do I find it? Is it just in the server browser under a different version because I have seen a few servers with different versions but I get a version mismatch upon joining. Is there an update somewhere I should download? I heard Rocket talking about 100 slot servers and I never got a chance to try it. Anyway, what do I do to get into experimental branch and try out the new changes. Thanks for any replies that can point me in the right direction! Thanks dudes. -Kev
zhrike 264 Posted February 18, 2014 Right-click on DayZ in steam, choose properties, go to Betas tab, opt in. The game will update. Reverse it to get back to public hive/patch.
KFieLd 2 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) Nvm, I think I figured it out. Went to DayZ under steam, and hit "Opt-In" for experimental development or something like that, and now I'm download a file. I assume once that's in, I should be able to join the exp. branch servers once I log back in. At least I hope so lol. EDIT: Thanks Zhrike. I figured it out about 2m before your post. Good info on the reverting back to stable hive/patch though. Thanks! -Kev Edited February 18, 2014 by KFieLd
novogeek 253 Posted February 18, 2014 Google is your friend ... so is searching on this website ... but anyway. As far as I understand it, the experimental branch is an opt-in option on Steam. So if you navigate to the drop-down betas menu through the Steam client, you’ll be able to select this branch and play with the new changes later today. You can only join experimental branch servers while doing this, however, and there are obviously fewer of those. Never done it myself ... good luck.
