Sniping Gadgets

Recommended Posts

I'll just keep this one short. I thought, that you maybe could be able to zero a Scope whilst scoping like you can in BF4.

Also I'd like to see some sort of laser range finder or something, so that you know how far your prey is away from you. This could be found on construction sites.

Learning to just distance is key as the magically allows you to zero at X metres with a few button presses.

It would be nice to include a proper system for shooting and especially sniping first.

As far as I can see, it is just like BF now, just a bit of bullet drop, thats it. Plus some jittering and sway.

Don't see much of a use for rangefinders or such.

I might be mistake but don't the LRS and the PU Scope have a little adjuster on the side to compensate bullet drop, and I just thought it might be better if you could use it.

And for the rangefinder I found some that people go hunting with:

I personally want all military snipers to be rare. Snipers ruined the mod, hard. Only Civilian weapons should be common >.>

And then we are talking about Russia, where they go hunting with a Dragunov.

Yes, they do, and you CAN use it. PageUp and PageDown adjusts the zeroing for different ranges.

Proper sniping means, not only simple bullet drop, but different bullet drop from different rifles, wind, maybe the rotation of the earth for reaaaaaaaaly long shots (last thing would be more a thing of bigger calibers).

Probably needing to turn the "buttons" on the scope to zero the rifle in and compensate for wind. This would need a card with the settings for different ranges and different rifles.

I think there was/is a mod for Arma2 which had such a system in. This makes long shots a bit more difficult instead of only having bullet drop.

A Rangefinder would be worth its weight in gold if you find one. Also a wind meter (don't know the right word for it, it is a device to measure the windspeed).

Anyways, I agree with AsOiX. Military grade sniper rifles should be very, very rare or kept out of the game entirely.

BTW: To create a spoiler, simply put the picture between a [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler], without the spaces between letters and brackets.

Anemometer. You could very legitimately find them in the control towers at the airfields given that they are often used as a backup. They're delicate and highly calibrated though so I would expect them to be easily damaged/ruined and exceptionally rare in pristine condition.

Source: I used to fly gliders and regularly used an anemometer on the airfield to determine if the wind was outside flying limits.
