Oh Fiddlesticks!

Recommended Posts

So, I spent about 7 hours today looking for sticks for my mate with a broken leg and never found any. I did find morphine which I have been told fixes broken legs but when I went to inject him he moved away and I ended up taking the morphine myself (so yeah that's my fault for being useless and not giving him the injector to use)

In my search for sticks I came across many many axes, wrenches, baseball bats and all sorts of other items which could be fashioned into a working splint.

So perhaps if you had say a hammer you could knock the end off a woodcutting axe and use the shaft of it. Or a baseball bat could maybe be broken in half by an axe and used.

Just seems that these things could all be used in that scenario and I know it would make having a broken leg a much easier experience to deal with, but lets face it, It is a really really damn tricky one as it is.

Thoughts?

Or they could make it so you can collect sticks from...you know...THE FOREST?

Rofl! I vote that sticks and stones should be very abundant in the wooded areas.

I suggest adding a function where you can chop the broken leg guy's arm off, cleave the meat away then use his bone as a splint.

Is good idea!

Unique idea, I like it but what happens to the metal side of the weapon?

I propose:

-Gather Sticks in bundles of 2x1 from the ground underneath trees, or from trees directly.
-Gather Long Grass Roots in coils of 1x1 from grassy ground.

-Gather Rocks in piles of 2x2 from rocky or concrete ground.

Each of these items takes 10 seconds to forage from their terrain type. Once you have them, you can create many things from scratch. Sticks and Roots can make a splint after 30 uninterrupted seconds of construction, sticks and roots and rocks can make a Makeshift Axe after 30 uninterrupted seconds of combination [tie the rock head securely to the sticks with nice long tough roots,] and you can even make the Bow with roughly 100 seconds of crafting, tying together all the roots to make a grass root rope, then adding this to the Sticks over 70 seconds to make a really shitty Bow.

innawoodsman's dream. Who needs towns when you can put together your own shittily crafted tools? They fall apart fast, but they're YOURS.

That would make him.... the Batman. :D

Of course, with stick-gathering we wouldn't want it to be too Minecraftian. No crafting tables, no punching trees, man up and use the ground [you have to crouch?]

When I originally thought up this idea I forgot to mention I meant if you were in a densely populated town and had no immediate access to trees. I completely overlooked the idea of foraging sticks when in the woods which I think would be great. As for the other part of the item I hadn't really thought about that. I was just trying to address the broken leg issue
