Will stealth crawling make a return  in the retail version?

 

 

If you dont know what that is, in the mod you could stay invisible to zombies while crawling unless you were very close to one and it was facing you (3-5m). This led to super intense situations where players crawled from corner to corner fearing to get spotted.

 

I hope this makes a return, because this was one of the tensest things in the mod, having to crawl through large groups to get loot.

I remember, back in the mod, when I still tried to loot cities by sneaking past zeds. This is how looting cities should be, in my opinion.

I still remember crawling to one of the brick houses in Novy Sobor, and one of those Zeds that would walk around slowly was chasing me, getting closer, but if I would be to run, all the zeds would see me...

If you hold shift while walking zombies don't seem to notice you as much, I was able to sneak up on and kill a zombie this way

Not really. I've had an encounter with a zombie in a field. It was just standing there. Made two 360 circles around it at touching distance - zombie didn't even budge. So I killed it for not showing me any attention..

Ya, the infected AI is really wonky at the moment.  I'll have some that see me from miles away or other ones i can walk up, poke, punch, tickle etc and no response.  Hell I've been wondering through the woods, go to take a piss and come back to a random infected attacking me from out of nowhere lol

Do that in black forest, and you will come back with 10 zombies attacking you.

Zombie AI right now is so radically unpredictable it doesn't seem to matter whether you full on sprint up to their face, pull out an axe, and stuff it in their brain, or if you roll up to them silently.

 

However, I would really like to see some sort of sneak system. Like, hell, if you take your shoes off you are quieter, but are more prone to injury to your feet, etc. I mean let's be honest. No shoes = instant ninja. I just hate that I am able to be heard upstairs 4 stories when i'm crouch walking lol xD
