Notebooks

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,i have a new but fairly simple suggestion.

Let's have 50 to 100 page notebooks as loot.It will work similar to books, only they would be plain paper at first,

Giving the survior the ability to write anything down without having to worry about space. Also give the ability

to tear off pages from the notebook and make them the simple 1 paged notes we all know.In a nutshell all im suggesting,is a stack of 50 to 100 papers, not taking a large inventory space for the survivor to utilize as he wishes.

I actually like this idea, finding a notebook full of personal notes on a body would surely add to the atmosphere in the game. Yet it had to be rare in order to not make the paper sheets useless.

I got to admit, this is a good. The person who ever had it before hand, might of left notes where the best loot locations is or rare/or meet up points to trade etc.

This can be a good view into another person way of playing DayZ or what how they play. This can also be used to "lure" players into false places and then can be used to rob people. So when ever seeing people notes, always take it with a pinch of salt or send someone to check it out the place(s) stealthy. Then again any item in the game can be used for good/bad points.

I like. Would be a worthwhile addition when bases/stashes are added. You know, like maybe noting down a grid reference for a stash so you don't forget or something.

I agree, it's a good idea.  I'd also be very interested to see the Devs put this in as a journal feature.  Imagine if they would make it so each character gets a small journal with an attached pen (pen only useable on that journal) and everyone spawns with it.  Keep it, ditch it, up to you.  You have three options with the journal - one, make your own notes; two, rip out a page to use either for leaving a note or possibly to help start a fire; three, an key binding that allows for automatic journal entry.   You hit it and it records something based on your recent game status.  Examples "Just entered Chernogorsk, <date>" "Killed another survivor, <player name>" "Got a nasty infection, <source>".  Not necessarily something I need to see immediately, but would be a nice touch.  It could make for an interesting time sink to find somewhere quiet to read through another player's journal.  Then again, we're just as likely to get a lot of entries that say "I like ponies!" and "I AM LEETZ, NEWBZ, LOLZ".

I like the idea of automatic updates to the journal, it would make it so that a lot more people will actually bother with it.

On the other hand, I could imagine people getting pissed off if they are killed whilst carrying a journal that they put a lot of time into writing, to have the journal stolen and burnt by another player, or just left, and lost during a server reset.

Yeah I like the idea too. It would also be cool if you could hang the single sheets, that you tore from your journal somewhere, like a message board.
