Items in backpack still showing on main menu model

Hey i had this issue for ages...my gas mask is in my pack, but wont dissapear from the model in main menu. So i wanted to ask if i drop it on the floor and log, then log back in to try and fix it. Will it still be on the floor when i do, or is there loot cleanup active?

EDIT - Well I took the timer hit and tried it. Theres no loot cleanup so thats safe, but it still shows on main menu model. Even if I drop it, log, then take it strait to pack. Gonna go browse bug tracker for it, but if anyone else knows a way to stop it would be great :)
