Melee weapon player damage isn't right.

Recommended Posts

The damage on melee weapons versus players is extremely low. I just gave like 5 hits with a fireaxe to some whiny 14 year old's back and he ended up killing me with a woodcutting axe.

Also, fists to the face are stronger than slicing someone with a machete in the face. What gives? Buff this shi* mang.

Aim for the head.

(Also hit detection isn't all that great, they'll fix it in due time.)

Yeah I hit him in the head too.

He was getting hit..it's just the fact that melee weapons do like 5% damage to players.

When you run into something such as 5 hits from a firefighter axe to kill someone, either you have a badly damaged axe or you or possibly the other person is suffering from some type of lag or desync, making the situation more difficult than it should be.

Basically this. MAX, it takes 2 hits to kill someone with the fire axe. As for the hit detection post, the hit detection works fine, they made it so the physical item has to make contact in order to register.

Who was the whiny 14 year old again?

Edit: Seriously, if you want to complain about the damage and the effectivity of weapons, state it in a reasonable manner without judging the other person who was more skilled / had more luck / did something else right.

Did you have the weapon "raised" and so you were missing on most of your swings, or lowered where it can actually swing the Axe well?

I've noticed that you actually need some momentum with bigger melee weapons such as the fire axe. You can even try this with zombies. If you just stand still next to your target and swing your axe you need to hit like 5 or more times, but if you run at your target and time the swing well you can 1 hit zombies with ease, same goes for players.
