When unconscious, automatically stands up again?

So made my first trip to the NW airfield today, was running to the control tower.

After getting inside i noticed 2 guys inside and i just ran past them up to 2nd floor. They didn't attack me so i thought friendly.

 

Seconds later they came up and started shooting at me, i only had my fire axe anyway so i swang it. To my suprise both of them died pretty quickly. While bandaging myself, i noticed a third guy below the stairs point the gun up. So i waited till he came up and swang my axe at him, he shot at me as well. Except this time i only took a shot or two before i was unconscious with the black screen.

 

Then 2-3 seconds later i was up again. I saw the 2 dead guy right beside me, third guy who killed me earlier is dead outside the balcony =/.

 

How did this happen? He killed me and he died as well? And I woke up from being unconscious.

 

Took their good stuffs, ran away xD. All 3 of them had M4s with lots of cool things, wish i could've took more than 1
