Backpack logic (+ fetch delay)

Recommended Posts

a disassembled (!!!) m4 should fit in taloon, mountain and the hunter

any rifle (m4 assembled, mosin, longbarrel shotgun, etc.) should fit into the mountain backpack.

hell, do somehow remove the possibility to carry 2 weapons with the "weapon in hand trick" and make it like this.

then for taking a weapon into the hand... or even make it general... +10 seconds if u take something out of your backpack.

i mean, why do i have easy access vests and pants and holsters. when i can just pick anything out of a backpack with no delay.

problem solved. EASY. THANK ME LATER!!!

i dont know why u disagree that putting a revolver out of a holster or vest pocket

into your hand should take exact the same amount of time as when u take it out of your

backpack, which is ... on your ... BACK... and has to be opened ... etc...

why are you pretending i would be the imbecile, when clearly you are?

I understood exactly what he was saying.

M4s are easy to break down. Pop two retaining pins loose, separate upper and lower recievers, and VOILA! you have split the gun in half. Result? Easily fits in a backpack.

With just a little practice, I was able to completely disassemble my M16A4 AND reassemble it in less than 30 seconds. That includes removal of the sling, handguards, separation of the upper and lower, removal of the bolt carrier group, separation of the bolt from the bolt carrier, disassembly of the bolt down to the brass extractor, and removal and separation of the buffer and buffer spring, THEN reverse it all back to a single, functional weapon.

I made a point in the suggestion thread about something along these lines as well, essentially point out that while our current inventory system is by and far better than that of the mod, it could still be just as user friendly AND realistic if item volume and storage container volume were factored in.

There is no reason whatsoever why a broken down M4 could NOT fit in my backpack, YET I am able to shove a 600 round ammo can full of ammo into my jeans pocket? It just doesn't make sense.

Also: Alpha disclaimer follows:

Its still alpha

Agree with adding 10 seconds if the weapon you are swapping to is in your pack. That's a must have. But you can take any item into your hands,so letting us carry another in our pack would mean we could have 3. Maybe you carn't access the one in your pack unless you right click and select rebuild rifle....animation plays....then it goes into your hands. Making you drop the third gun you were carrying :)

PS....just ignore all the meme responses ;)

So it would be something like this.  Brilliant.

I never understood this picture; in Call of Duty you can only carry two guns.

In relation to what the OP was saying, I'd like to see a backpack opening animation every time you look in your backpack. Meaning, your backpack is closed on your inventory screen, and if you open it, there is an animation.

Yeah, you didn't make your OP very clear but I do agree that you should be able to fit disassembled weapons in your pack.  I don't know about 10 whole seconds to grab a weapon out of your bag though.  I am pretty sure I could take off my pack and grab out a pistol in 5 seconds or less in the heat of the moment.  I just don't believe that anyone needs to carry more than one rifle and one pistol though.

It's just a parody of the generally ridiculous nature of CoD.  That's not a knock on the game, it was never designed to be a mil sim or anything.

The point I was trying to make is that it may be BI's intent to only allow us to have one primary firearm.  If they take up ample room in the backpack then I'm all for having more than one.  Carrying sufficient ammo for multiple weapons plus the burden of losing over half your backpack space to a secondary rifle...that's a good enough handicap for me.
