Mosin + Prone position + Bipod deployed + Hold breath -> strong jitter after some recent patch

Recommended Posts

In real life you have physical indicators.. Like, YOU CAN FEEL THAT YOUR ARM IS FUCKING BROKEN.

In game, I can't feel my characters arm, and without any kind of game feedback telling me something is broken, how am I supposed to know?

Jesus fucking christ, I am glad you're not a game developer, because you know absolutely jack shit about making a good game.

And you do? You aren't one of those fellow developers are you?

Yes.

No. Not a developer. There are rules for what makes a good video game and they're tried and true. You can look up some of the lectures online if you'd like. I'm sure there are some posted on YouTube.

It's important that games give players proper feedback. For example, in real life a person could FEEL that their arm is broken.. In DayZ, there's no way to know that. Games have to simulate senses for us that we do not have through our online avatar, otherwise the interface is not user friendly and it confuses the player. Risk and reward, another staple of video game design. If you reward players too much, the game becomes easy.. If there's no reason to take a risk, people won't take it. If the risk/reward system is imbalanced, the game is broken and imbalanced and loses it's appeal to the audience.

Simple shit. Problem is a lot of people on these forums talk out of their ass without thinking things through to their logical end.

Yes.

Here we go again.

Actually, you don't hold your breath at all. You squeeze at the end of your exhale.

What? Have you never fired any rifle before?

You exhale and pause your breathing while you shoot, hence you hold your breath even though it is a very short duration.

intresting read :)

i guess this also applies to the PU Scope...

i was sniping some zombies a few days ago to test my aim and was really wondered why even lying arround with a bipod my aim was moving that much.

guess i had a broken arm too, have to test it again...

PS: and yes we need a indication for this, i dont care for a status bar, well i didnt even need the ones we have right now, text info was enough... but well if you are walking arround with a broken or hurt arm you fu**ing notice it and there should be a notification for this in the game... "my arm hurts" / "i cant move my arm right" and so on.

well i would even say besides this aim problem you should do less damage with your fists and melee weapons...

What tangent did this conversation go off onto? lol the guy wanted to know what was wrong with his scope sway, and the question has been answered.

The hostility in this thread is unfounded. The game is in alpha, there are problems with it. There isnt really much need for all of the personal attacks, they only weaken decent points.

Can broken arms be healed like legs using a splint?

Havent tried.

But morphine sorts it out without fail.

I only ever carry splints until i find morphine - uses less inventory space.

no. you dont hold your breath. for normally trained shooters its a totally automatic thing to shoot between the breathing in and out.

you breathe normally and on the maxima or minima you take your shots. no need to hold breath.

this holding breath is an artifact of i dont know what game introduced it first.

it serves no purpose. if i should hold breath to shoot then how come i dont have to manually pull the slide after reloading a magazine

how come i dont need to manually swallow after putting stuff in my mouth

how come i dont need to manually open my backpack flap to pick up things from there

how come i dont need to move my pupil ingame when looking around the screen

how come so many interactions with items are fully automatic... but i have to hold breath when i take a shot...
