If you can talk in Side Chat you have WRONG version

I have seen a few players on servers today talking in side chat and wondering why no-one is talking back to them. If you can talk in side chat, you are not running the same version as everyone else. With the beta, I think, the side chat is disabled in 1.7.1.5 currently. Just thought this might be helpful to those new players that are spamming why no-one is answering them.

Yeah, if you have 1.7.1.5 you have the wrong version - it's made to lower the serverloads and for masochist pleasure only.

1.7.1 is the last fun one.

I dunno I like 1.7.1.5. Just seeing people in servers wondering where the loot is, why there are no zombies and can all talk in side chat. Then they spam questions nonstop and seem pretty frustrated. Most say they just started so I think they are failing to download the beta part possibly?

Actually, I have 1.7.1.5, and 1.60.93965 (and it shows that version on the menu), and I can talk on Side Channel on some servers.

I think some server admins are re-enabling Side for much the same reasons some admins disable my ability to recognize a player I've been playing with for days by removing his name tag. Because they feel like that way of playing is "better" somehow.

Either that, or that particular server, despite saying the beta is required, isn't running the latest beta.

I disagree with the above. You dont have the wrong version. You are on a server that is not 1.7.1.5 But that doesnt necessarily mean its the wrong version. In my opinion 1.7.1.5 servers have the wrong version.
